Hultafors Chopping Axe HY10

The Hultafors Chopping Axe HY10 is an axe suitable for small-scale felling, made from blasted and clear-lacquered ironwork. The shaft is curved and made from hickory.

• • The axe is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel using traditional methods in use since 1697.

• • The steel is stuck several times, increasing its density and thereby the durability of the axe.

• • Has a clear tempered zone within which the axe can be sharpened whilst not detracting from the strength of the edge.

• • The shaft is made from hickory and treated with linseed oil.

There is a choice of axe head weight; 1000g or 1200g

Shaft lengths and cutting edges may vary slightly however as a rough guide the 1000g has a 9.5cm edge and 63.0cm shaft, the 1200g has a 10.0cm edge and a 63.0cm shaft.
